  • Day 1 AM: Baltra Airport more info
  • Day 1 PM: crossing the itabaca-channel and going by bus to the southern part of Santa Cruz island more info
  • Day 1 PM: Santa Cruz, pitorest village Puerto Ayora, visit of the Charles Darwin Station to see the giant tortoise and land iguanas more info
  • Day 2 AM: early in the morning crusing north to South Plaza island more info
  • Day 2 AM: South Plaza: Plazas consists of two very small islands that were uplifted from the sea, separates by a channel. Only South Plaza has a visitor site. The highlights include tal Opuntia cactus, land and marine iguanas, rock cliff that looks out towards open ocean which is also a nesting site for red-billed tropic birds and gulls, and a seal lion bachelor colony. more info
  • Day 2 PM: Santa Fé island: This small island of 24 qkm ist very interesting. The visitor site of Santa Fé is located on the northeast end of the island. Highlights include Santa Fé land iguanas, pelican nesting site, sea lion colony, mockingbird and Palo Santo trees. more info
  • Day 3 AM: San Cristobal island: This island is the easternmost island of Galapagos and also one of the oldest. Cerro Brujo is a white sand beach on the west side of San Cristobal. Highlights include: Sally Lightfoot crabs, marine iguanas, sea lions, mockingbird and lava lizards. more info
  • Day 3 PM: cruising a little bit south to the pitorest village Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. From here we go by bus to the lagoon el Junco. This lagoon is the only fresh water reservoir in Galapagos and has great views from its altitude of 700 m in the highlands of San Cristobal. more info

  • Day 4 AM: Española island: This island is the oldest of the Southern islands and is the southernmost in the archipelago. Because of its remote location a unique range of endemic species evolved here. Gardner Bay: Located on the northeast of the island, the site has a long and very beautiful white sand beach inhabited by sea lion colonies. Islote Gardner and islote Osborn: These islets are snokeling sites where visitors will see an abundance of tropicl fish, reef sharks and turtles. more info
  • Day 4 PM: Española, Punta Suarez: The wildlife at Punta Suarez is plentiful and varied. Along the cliff visitors can enjoy the blowhole where seawater is forced about 20 m into the air. The highlights are the waved albatros (April - December) that are only found on Española, Galapagos Hawks, blue-footed boobies, Nascar boobies and Española lava lizards. more info
  • Day 5 AM: Floreana island, Punta Cormorant: Floreana is best known for its colorful history of buccaneers, whalers, convicts and early colonists. Punta Cormorant has two contrasting beaches and a large inland lagoon where pink flamingos can be seen. more info
  • Day 5 PM: Floreana, Devil´s Crown: This is a snorkeling site located jsut off Punta Cormorant. The site is a completely submerged volcan, that has eroded to create the appearance of a jagged crown. more info
  • Day 5 PM: Floreana, Post office bay: This is one of the few sites visited for its human history. Visit the wooden mail barrel where letters are dropped off and picked up and remains of the Norwegian fishing village. more info

  • Day 6 AM: Santa Cruz island, Dragon hill: This place is located in the northwestern side of Santa Cruz island. Some highlights include small lagoons with flamingos, Palo Santo trees and Opuntia cactus. more info
  • Day 6 PM: Santiago island, Sullivan Bay: This island is located between Isabela and Santa Cruz islands. This island offers a wide variety of seabirds, marine iguanas and fur seals. The Sullivan Bay is of great geological interest. Highlights: 100 hundred year old lava flow field, pahoehoe formations and lava bubbles more info

  • Day 7 AM: Genovesa island, El Barranco: Genovesa is an eroded flat volcanic island, with a natural harbor, which is actually the submerged caldera of this volcanic island. There (in El Barranco) is a good possiblity of seeing the unique "short eared owl" at this site. During the dinghy rides along the cliffs fur seals and serveral species of seabirds can be spotted. more info
  • Day 7 PM: Genovesa, Darwin Bay: The steep cliffs of this area dominate the islands. This area is home to thousands of frigate birds, red-footed boobises, Noddy terns, lava gulls, tropicbirds, doves, storm petrels and Darwin´s finches. more info

  • Day 8 AM: Santa Cruz island, Caleta Tortuga (Turtle cove). Turtle Cove is a red mangrove lagoon on Santa Cruz and a perfect example of how mangroves alter the marine environment to create a rich and unique habitat. more info

The Cachalote Explorer is a stylish steel-hulled motor yacht that accommodates 16 passengers on its Galapagos cruises. All eight cabins are air-conditioned and contain portholes and a private bathroom with hot shower. This Touristclass  yacht was originally built for the rough waters of the Canadian West coast before being converted to a Galapagos vessel, so it will provide a smooth and stable ride while exploring the islands.

The Cachalote Explorer cruise itineraries offer the option of 6, 8 and 15 day tours, visiting selected sites approved by the Galapagos National Park. Each of these itineraries is unique, rich and varied, and offers the opportunity to experience Galapagos up close and personal within a small group led by a highly experienced naturalist guide. Our 8 days itinerary "Tower"  can be combined to form a 15 days itinerary in combination  with the 8  days itinerary "Fernandina" (look at grafic under fotos) which  we highly recommend to those travelers who wish to have a complete, in-depth experience of the Galapagos Islands on a small cruise yacht. The price is 2 x 3.980 USD = 7.960 USD for the 15 days/14 nights itinerary.
