07/29/2021: Galapagos Islands are Covid-19-free



The Ministry of Health of Ecuador and the national civil protection agency COC have given the all-clear for the Galapagos Islands. Since last week, 14.-21. June 2021 the islands are Covid-19-free. In addition, the population of the islands and the tourist employees of the expedition ships and hotels etc. are completely vaccinated against Covid-19 with the vaccine from Biontech / Pfizer. A negative RT-PCR or antigen test is still required for entry. In addition, the travel plan will be checked from July 1, 2021 when the transit card is applied for. Private supplementary health insurance remains mandatory. When entering Ecuador, people who have been vaccinated and recovered from Covid-19 are treated the same as those who have tested negative for PCR or antigen.
